Ladies Takeover

There is no doubt that women have taken the music landscape by storm in the last few months. I am amazed by all the new albums and other amazing singles that are dominating the charts. These are some of the ladies I have had on repeat all summer long.

I have been feening for Mahalia’s album all summer long and it’s finally here. First, I became addicted to “I Wish I Missed My Ex” and “Simmer” (featuring Burna Boy). The rest of the album was released this past Friday and it does NOT disappoint.

Snoh Aalegra

Snoh is one of my more recent discoveries. One of her songs popped up on a random Apple Music playlist and I have been hooked ever since. Her album, – Ugh, those feels again, doesn’t have any features – just all Snoh for 40 straight minutes. Some of my faves are “Situationship” and

Kiana Ledé

Kiana Ledé’s recent EP and singles have a youthful flair with more upbeat tempos. I love her newest single “Title” her Myself – EP has two of my faves, “Heavy” featuring Jenifer Lewis and “Ex.”

Couldn’t have a lady takeover in music roundup without mentioning Lizzo. She has clearly dominated the Billboard charts and is making history with the rise in popularity for her songs “Truth Hurts” and “Good As Hell” (which is three years old by the way). She is unapologetically and authentically herself, which why I think she is gaining all of this attention from fans.
